Acceptable Use Policy

View as PDFYou shall not, and shall not cause or permit Your Users, End Users or any others to:
a. use the NaC Services to violate any applicable law, regulation, governmental order or decree, or third parties’ rights;
b. use the NaC Services to obtain unauthorized access to, or interfere by any means with, any user, system, network, service, or account, including evasion of filters or breach of the security or integrity of any network or system, or impair anyone else;
c. reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, harm the NaC Services, impair anyone else’s use of the NaC Services, or distribute spam or malware;
d. use the NaC Services to include any data that is illegal, unlawful, harmful, pornographic, defamatory, infringing, or invasive of personal privacy or publicity rights, or to impersonate or attempt to impersonate others without their consent, or to generate or disseminate personal data that can be used to harm an individual, or for exploiting, harming or attempting to exploit or harm minors in any way;
e. perform vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, network discovery, port and service identification, password cracking of the NaC Services;
f. use the NaC Services to harass or to encourage or facilitate any violence or interference against any person, entity or government (including the use of NaC Services as or in support of a weapon of any kind), or to help any person, entity or government launch cyberattacks;
g. disable, tamper with, or otherwise attempt to circumvent any billing mechanism that measures use of the NaC Services;
h. use the NaC Services (including any associated NaC Licensed Materials) in any hazardous environments requiring fail-safe performance (e.g., aircraft navigation or communications systems, air traffic control, in the operation of nuclear facilities, direct life support machines, military defense systems, etc.) in which their failure could lead directly to death, personal injury or severe physical or environmental damage;
i. use the Services in fully automated decision making that adversely impacts an individual’s legal rights or otherwise creates or modifies a binding, enforceable obligation, or for any use intended to or which has the effect of discriminating against or harming individuals or groups based protected characteristics;
j. use the Services to generate or disseminate information to be used for administration of justice, law enforcement, immigration or asylum processes, or to provide medical advice;
k. retain any data received from the NaC Services once consumed from the APIs, or use or share such data for different or subsequent purpose than that for which it was provided;
l. input any personal data or other sensitive or confidential information into any AI chatbot feature made available in connection with the NaC Services. Any such AI chatbot is operated by a third-party provider; Nokia does not control its output and accepts no liability for any use of or reliance thereon.
You are responsible for providing accurate and true information about Your application, business profile and API scope and purpose for which the API will be consumed. Nokia will forward API requests to CSP based on pre-registered scope and purpose. In case there is any future change in application requirement and purpose for which API is consumed, You must immediately inform Nokia. You are not allowed to use the NaC Services until an approval is granted by Nokia and associated CSPs for Your new purpose.
In addition to other rights that Nokia has under the Terms of Service, Nokia has the right to take remedial actions if this Acceptable Use Policy is violated, including (i) suspending or terminating Your Developer Account and access to the NaC Services; (ii) Removing or disabling access to the part of Developer Content that violates the Acceptable Use Policy; (iii) bringing legal proceedings against You for reimbursement of all costs on an indemnity basis (including, but not limited to, reasonable administrative and legal costs) resulting from the non-compliance; and/or (iv) making disclosure of such information to law enforcement authorities as Nokia reasonably determines necessary or appropriate. Unless Nokia believes an immediate suspension is mandated based on the facts, Nokia will provide You with reasonable notice before suspending Your access to the NaC Services.
GenAI Features
"GenAI Features” means any generative artificial intelligence functionality made available as part of or in connection with the Service. GenAI Features, where available, may only be accessed and used in connection with the Service and are not provided as standalone products or services. GenAI Features are provided on an "AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE" basis. Your use of GenAI Features is at your sole risk, and you are responsible for ensuring that your use of the GenAI Features complies with these Terms and all applicable laws. Nokia makes no warranties or representations, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, legality, or fitness for any purpose of outputs generated by GenAI Features. You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for evaluating and verifying any outputs generated by GenAI Features before taking any action based on such outputs.
To the extent the Service includes chatbot or conversational AI functionality as part of the GenAI Features, you acknowledge and agree that: (a) such chatbot functionality is provided for informational and assistive purposes only and does not constitute professional, legal, financial, or technical advice; (b) chatbot responses are generated algorithmically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated; (c) you shall not rely on chatbot outputs as a sole basis for any decision or action without independent verification; (d) Nokia shall have no liability for any loss, damage, or claim arising from your reliance on or use of any chatbot-generated output; and (e) you shall not input, submit, or otherwise transmit any personal data (as defined under applicable data protection laws) into or through the chatbot, and you are solely responsible for ensuring that no personal data is provided to the chatbot in any form. Nokia disclaims all liability for any unauthorized or inadvertent submission of personal data to the chatbot. You are solely responsible for evaluating the appropriateness and accuracy of any information provided by the chatbot prior to acting upon it.
